Why might you need us?

Lighthouse Psychology Child and Adolescent Services provide support to young people and their families experiencing psychological difficulties or distress, which often impact a number of areas of life. This work is led by a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist and supported by other specialists with a passion for working with young people.

These difficulties include (but are not limited to): 

Anxiety difficulties; including phobias, social anxiety, separation anxiety, OCD and panic; low mood and depression; trauma; eating difficulties; body image distress.

Often understanding difficulties involves further assessment. Lighthouse Psychology have expertise in carrying out extensive assessment which includes Autism Spectrum Disorder assessment (ASD assessment) and ADHD assessment.

We are here to support people, from childhood up to early adulthood, who are experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties where there is an impact on functioning and/or psychological distress. We can also offer parenting support and advice.

About us

Dr Sally Lord is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, specialising in child and adolescent mental health, who recognises the need to make these essential services available and accessible to those who need it most.   

Sally has worked in Clinical Psychology Services across all age ranges for over twenty years, specialising in young people’s mental health for over 17 years. She has experience working across different areas of young people’s mental health including from early intervention and mild difficulties up to moderate, severe and enduring mental health concerns. Sally is experienced and skilled in working with children, adolescents and young adults, and their families, and continues to work within the NHS alongside private practice.
